Wow...yesterday's open house was a major bomb. I can always count on at least 8 groups rolling through; yesterday I had zero!! Basically wasted my entire day.
Nice house: 3 bedroom, 2 bath, with one of the most incredible views, overlooking the water. Slightly run down. Needed paint and carpet, but the master bath tub overlooked the water and surrounding hills. Very cool.
While I was setting up my signs, an old man drove up next to me and yelled, "Hey...are you the dumb-ass puttin' signs all over?." I said, "Sir, I'm just tryin' to make a living". He say's, "Is that your name on the signs? Is that who you are?". I told him it was, and turns out that he and I shared the exact same name; first, middle, and last.
Later in the day he stopped by my open house. So basically the only person who came by was me.
Weird Day!!

Welcome To My World
Beginning today, for better or worse, I will be writing about something I am truly familiar with, the trials and tribulations of a rookie real estate agent.
In all honesty, I have been selling real estate for almost two years, and wonder if perhaps I should call my blog something different, but almost daily I run into a problem which humbles me, and reminds me that, indeed, I am a rookie.
I sell real estate in a very distressed market, and "keeping my pipeline filled" is a constant challenge. Today I'm off to hold another open house; the best, and cheapest way imaginable to secure potential clients. I'm actually doing pretty well at this thing, having sold one house per month for the past year. I don't really have a choice if I want to continue feeding my family.
Anyway, I'm off! I hope you'll enjoy the blog as much as I enjoy writing it.
